Berkshire Trout

Hand selected by head chef at The Vineyard Tom Scade our delicious Berkshire Trout has been on the Vineyard’s menu since day one of Tom’s arrival.  Tom cures our trout in “California sunshine,” including lemon verbena, grapefruit and sumac.  It is lightly cooked and sliced, served with horseradish (grated and puréed), diced apple and covered in a veil of cucumber jelly. The Funghi Club Bistro offer French inspired dishes made with top quality, premium ingredients. In the bistro, Laurent has created a delightful smoked fish platter that features our Berkshire Hot Smoked Trout. Pop in and try it!

Trays cafe in located in The Artisans' Collective in Barrs Yard. Barrs Yard is home to Garden Art Plus, wine merchants, a florists and more. It is a beautiful location to spend and afternoon surrounded by creativity and organic beauty.

Tray keeps her menus short, sweet and seductive and there's always a vegetarian option. The atmosphere is cosy and homelike with tea served in vintage china; her much-complimented coffee is from Bristol's Clifton Coffee. Supporting fellow small businesses is the name of the game so you'll often find fresh veg from the Shalbourne Community Growers in Tray's soup, pasta or chilli of the day. The meat is from a traditional butcher in Hungerford, so the sausage and bacon baps are legendary. Try a carafe of fresh apple juice, pressed nearby in the river-crossed North Wessex Downs AONB. We are very happy that you can now also find Berkshire Trout on Tray's menu.

The award winning Blue Tin Produce Farm Shop has a wonderful range of local and sustainable produce and now includes Berkshire Trout!

They rear and sell free range Gloucester Old Spot pork and Dexter beef. In addition their range includes handmade sausages, smoked and unsmoked bacon, gammons, burgers, locally smoked salmon, and local cheeses from 5 surrounding creameries plus all the accompaniments.

In the coffee bar they have handmade chocolates, freshly made cakes, locally roasted coffee and many other goodies available fresh, chilled, frozen or ambient.

We are excited to announce that Berkshire Trout is now stocked at Oaktrack Farm Shop near Andover. Oaktrack is a small family run business which partners with small local business stocking 'farm fresh and family finished' products. Berkshire Trout and Oaktrack share many of the same values with sustainability, quality and the welfare of all their animals being is at the heart of everything they do.
